God bless those women & men who fought for their & future generations of women the right to vote.
These are treasured memories from a rather tough decade.
Some of the images we see from this era are very supportive of women and their heroic crusade to get the vote. But some are vicious depictions of suffragettes as either shrivelled prunes who could never attract a man or neglectful wives and mothers. I think images could hurt more than words could.
Thank you for publicizing what is an often ignored but rather important aspect of the suffrage movement–along with buttons, ribbons, sheet music, etc. For those of you who are interested in seeing more images of women’s suffrage artifacts, please visit my website at womansuffragememorabilia.com
