Who more deserving than the man who wears an Edwardian smoking jacket (made by his bride nearly 50 years ago when she was a mere 20 years old) while watching this marvelous series transport him back to a saner and more civil age.

Please help me in my new position. I am under, sub, deputy assistant to the lower below maid and I am cannot keep it all staright. Last night when the young master came to my attic room, I thought we might have a nice chat- but he was checking to see if i had set the table with the dessert spoon and the sald fork in the wrong place. Perhaps “DA” will help me understand my “betters”- Thank you for the guidance.

Ah, Downton Abbey! When everyone knew his place in the pecking order. Life was so simple then, it seems. My mother (deceased) would have agreed.
