   Do you know if fans in the United States would be able to purchase the UK dvd of series 2 once it’s released there? I myself would love to not have to wait until January of next year to see Downton Abbey. I know that region 2 dvd’s can’t be played here, but I’m pretty sure most lap tops and region-free dvd players can play it. Just wondering because I’ve never purchased a cross-country dvd.

   I do believe that Blu-Ray DVDs are Region free. Otherwise, we Americans have to wait for our own DVD release (or, you can search the internet for methods of de-regioning your DVD player ).
